Overview
EDM provided engineering and management services for the conversion of an existing 219,000 SF industrial facility into a secure high-tech manufacturing facility.
The gut renovation, and expansion, of the existing office area included the addition of a pedestrian elevator, employee cafeteria, and executive & security offices. New product testing and research & development laboratories were also constructed within the expanded office complex.
The production area design included highly specialized process equipment, Class 1 Div 1 & 2 flammable liquid bulk storage & dispensing systems, corrosive materials bulk storage & dispensing systems, custom designed HVAC and process exhaust systems including the installation of a regenerative thermal oxidizer, and a large, chilled water system for building and process needs.
Fire protection & notification systems were installed and/or upgraded to meet new design requirements including custom CO2 fire suppression systems in the flammable liquid areas.
